Dan Troy is a highly qualified State Representative, serving the citizens of both Lake and Cuyahoga Counties honestly and effectively. He is respected on both sides of the aisle, and never lets partisanship blind him in his efforts to serve his constituents and develop common-sense public policy.

Representative Troy has had a distinguished career in Ohio politics, holding roles at the city, county, and state levels. His service began as a city councilman and council president before he was elected to the Ohio House of Representatives, where he notably chaired several committees and played a key role in significant legislative initiatives. His expertise in budgeting and taxation earned him numerous accolades, and he successfully secured substantial state funding for local educational and community projects.

After his time in the state legislature, Rep. Troy served as a Lake County Commissioner and held leadership positions in regional and national organizations, receiving recognition for his contributions to regional cooperation and public service.

Currently, Rep. Troy represents Ohio's 23rd House District, which includes the cities of Eastlake, Mentor-on-the-Lake, Richmond Heights, Wickliffe, Willoughby, Willoughby Hills, Willowick, half of Mentor, and the villages of Gates Mills, Lakeline, Mayfield, and Timberlake.

Born in Cleveland, Dan  has lived in Lake County since he was eight years old. He is a graduate of Cleveland St. Joseph High School and the University of Dayton, where he earned a degree in political science. Outside of the legislature, Rep. Troy has taught government courses as a part-time faculty member at Lakeland Community College and is a 50-year building trades union member and a U.S. Army veteran.
